PHOTO REQUIREMENTS

PHOTOS CAN BE SENT VIA E-MAIL
IN GIF. PNG. or JPEG (JPG) FORMAT

Cost to use your dog in a background = $10.00 and is good for any number of
backgrounds when you are purchasing products.  This is based on submitting
up to three photos for acceptance (best one picked if it meets the basic
requirements.)  You can also just submit a head and shoulder shot.

Background examples to choose from:

* Dogs in famous art
       * Cats in famous art        * Dog designs by Jean
*
Ornaments -  dogs in famous art    * Xmas dog ornaments by Jean
  *
Cat Designs by Jean

  Angel Dog Art Composite

Please include your pet's approximate weight and name.

Exclusive permission to use your dog's image from that particular photo is
required along with your agreement that you will not allow another artist
to use the same dog in the photo on the web.   (This is just standard for
any artist using custom dog photos.)

Check my dog choices to see dog images that meet or come very
close to meeting all the guidelines.  Also, check out the "Don't"
photo link at the bottom of the page that might help.

R E Q U I R E M E N T S   /   G U I D E L I N E S

1)  Straight on angle - not shot from above *

2)  Shows the whole dog (or cat) - no paws sunk in grass or pillows
and  preferably not on a couch.  (Sorry, I don't recreate  paws due
     to the time it takes.)

3)  Good lighting and focus-which hopefully shows the eyes
(except with  certain long haired dog breeds).  No harsh shadows
or light.  If you can see the dogs shadow, that means you don't
      have balanced lighting.)

4)  The dog should be at least 3 inches high
in your photo
(because  for t-shirts or prints, it will need to be  enlarged.
If you can send  it so the dog is 6 or 7 inches high (sharp  focus),
that works great for preserving detail.

Again, please let me know the name and approximate weight of your pet too please.  The best position for a dog in my work is sitting slightly sideways and having the head turned in a 3/4 view looking up a little (I can always tilt the
head if I need to though).

You are also welcome to submit just head and shoulder shots.

*Note:  If your pet's  butt is showing on top of its head, chances are really good that you have taken the photo from above and should try again.    Also, if the hind legs show quite a ways back from the front legs, chances are again that it was shot from above the animal (Photo Q#1 below shows this problem).
